EduCom Co-operative Credit Union Limited (EduCom) invites applications
from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of:


EduCom is a member-centric and service-oriented organization. The Business
Development Leader is accountable to the Regional Member Experience Manager for the achievement of the Branch’s Member Value, Membership, Member Satisfaction and Delinquency Objectives in order that the Credit Union achieves its Mission, Vision and Major Targets in a sustainable manner.

Core Functions:

The successful candidate will be required to:

1. Direct the Branch’s new Member and new business acquisition process
to strengthen the member base of the Credit Union.

2. Direct the Branch’s Member service delivery processes, including
verification, authorization and signing of documents and transactions, ensuring member satisfaction.

3. Direct the Branch’s Member service support processes, including teller
reconciliation, lodgments, bank drafts, data entry, journal adjustments
etc. ensuring member satisfaction and efficiency.

4. Direct the Branch’s Member engagement and complaint resolutions
processes to drive member satisfaction

5. Direct the Branch’s Member needs analysis and tailored financial
solution design processes to add value to members.

6. Direct the Branch’s Loan Initiation, Origination and Adjudication
processes to mitigate credit risk.

7. Provide advice to external and internal stakeholders as required.

Required Qualification, Experience and Key Competencies:

• An Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Management Studies, Accounting, or its equivalent from an accredited tertiary institution

• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar position in a financial institution, three (3) of which should be Sales/Sales Management experience in a medium or large competitive retail or financial services environment.

• Knowledge of the Acts and Regulations governing the Credit Union

• Working knowledge of accounting practices, principles and procedures

• Working knowledge of Project Management

• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to think strategically

• Ability to lead/motivate staff at every level through inspiration and example

• Ability to prioritize amongst conflicting demands, solve business problems and make rational decisions based upon a sound understanding of the facts in a limited time

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to effectively present and argue a case and reach an agreement to achieve those things that the organization needs to be successful

• Ability to think in commercial business-like terms

• A results-oriented approach to management

• High level of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality and honesty

• Ability to pay keen attention to details

• Demonstrated ability to coach the team
