On Saturday June 29 and Sunday June 30, 2013, Housing Agency of Jamaica Limited (HAJ) will be accepting applications for the sale of the highly anticipated Bernard Lodge Estates development in St. Catherine. This application process will take place at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Applications will also be facilitated online on these dates, via the HAJ website, www.hajl.gov.jm.
Due to the high level of interest in this development and the anticipated demand for the 1,584 units to be sold, the Agency has taken a decision to create an avenue whereby as many persons as possible will have the chance to apply. All applications received at Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre and online will be collated and entered into a random selection system. This system will be independently managed to ensure transparency and fairness. From this pool, successful applicants will be allotted units and will be advised via the media, the HAJ website and HAJ’s social media pages.
HAJ continually researches ways to make housing solutions available to all sectors of society. In light of this, HAJ will be reserving a number of units for sale to persons with disability. “Following the selection of successful applicants, persons with disability who were not selected and who still wish to purchase units in the scheme may submit a written application to the Agency for special consideration,” states Ms. Maureen Webber, Chairman of the Agency. Persons are urged to continue to monitor the media for further updates on this process.
Housing Agency of Jamaica Limited continues to work assiduously with the Government to build Jamaica through home ownership and community development, acknowledging this as an integral part of the long-term development of the country.
